Join us for Ottawa Bike and Trail’s first ever Bike Overnight Adventure. We will be riding our bikes on the Flint Hills State Park Trail from Ottawa to Pomona Lake State Park. At Pomona Lake, we will enjoy campfire and biking activities while basking in the glow of the Full Moon. We’ll camp overnight and return to Ottawa the next morning.
For more information and to RSVP for the event visit our Events Calendar here.
The distance is just over 20 miles, so just about anyone can make the ride. We’ll also have some evening riding activities around the lake so if you want more mileage you can get it. We may even do an optional moonlight ride around the lake so that we can enjoy the Full Moon.
If you have the ability to carry your own gear then we encourage it. However, if you don’t, we will provide transportation of your gear from Ottawa to the lake and back. We want to make the ride accessible to everyone, so we will work with you to make sure you have everything you need to make the trip enjoyable.
Prior to the ride, we will host some information sessions on bikepacking and bike touring so you can learn about how different people approach it. Of course, we will also have equipment available for you to purchase prior to the event.
We are planning to keep the event free, but there may be some park fees and we may have some food options depending on what people want. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the event.
