The Surly Bridge Club is one of our favorite bicycles. There is a lot to love about the Bridge Club. Surly markets the bike as a versatile touring bicycle that can handle off-road or on-road surfaces. That’s the perfect combination for the trails, gravel roads, and backroads that we are surrounded by. Surly designed the Bridge Club as a touring bike. This means it provides a stable and comfortable ride for day-long cross-country trips as well as for short cross-town grocery trips. The Bridge Club can also be loaded up for an overnight backpacking trip.
We also love the Bridge Club for its beginner friendliness. You don’t have to be a gravel grinder or competitive cyclist to appreciate the Bridge Club. There are certainly other good beginner bikes for a little less money. However, I don’t think there is a better beginner bike out there. A new rider can jump on this bike and immediately experience the joy of cycling. After all, isn’t that what a beginning bike should do? We think so.
The feedback from our Bridge Club customers has been incredibly positive. Several of our customers bought the Bridge Club as a second bike, but they suddenly found themselves leaving their gravel bike at home in favor of their new favorite ride. It’s just a fun, friendly, and lovable bike that you can jump on for a joy ride. In our opinion, that’s what cycling is all about.
The Surly Bridge Club comes in two different formats; a 700c model wheel size and a 27.5 wheel size. The 700c model comes in Illegal Smile Green and the 27.5 model comes in Grandma’s Lipstick Red or Black.
